Description

A truly magical Grade II listed barn conversion in a pretty courtyard setting with covered parking, and courtyard garden situated in a thriving village just 2 miles from the World Heritage Jurassic coastline.

THE PROPERTY
The Loft is a truly magical barn conversion of stone elevations under a pitched slate roof and was once the old Cart Lodge to the Manor House, forming part of the Symondsbury Estate. The building was converted in 2004 into two apartments, with The Loft, as its name suggests, being mainly situated at first floor level, with parking underneath along with a pretty courtyard garden.
As you would imagine, the property is bursting with character and charm, with period features in abundance, to include vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and stripped wood floors, but offers surprisingly spacious and light filled rooms that make for a very cosy yet sociable space to enjoy with friends and family.
A barn door opens at ground floor level into a hall with stairs leading up and into a light filled and characterful sitting room that can be closed off if required, or left open to appreciate a more open plan feel. This then continues into the most wonderful open plan kitchen/dining/living space with a woodburning stove, with ample room to dine and relax. The kitchen itself comes complete with painted wooden base units, Belling range oven with five ring ceramic hob and extractor above, along with space for a dishwasher, fridge, and freezer.
Double doors perfectly separate the living spaces from the bedroom area, arriving at an inner hall, which is a room in itself and could be used as a dressing room or indeed a study. The two bedrooms and bathroom lead off here, with the main bedroom benefiting from an ensuite shower room.
There is a further habitable room at ground floor level, with its own entrance which is currently used for storage and as a laundry room but could easily lend itself to a further reception/bedroom if required.

OUTSIDE
Approached via a shared gravelled courtyard which leads into an open fronted car port with parking for 1 car - currently used as an outside entertaining space.
Underneath The Loft apartment and to the side of the covered terrace and entrance is a further room, currently used for laundry and storage, but could easily be used as an additional reception or bedroom if required. There is an open terrace to the front ideal for morning coffee, with a low stone wall that wraps around to the side of the barn to a further seating area.
All in all, this would make the most wonderful primary or secondary home in the most enviable location.

LOCATION
Symondsbury is a picturesque village set in beautiful countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and just a stone's throw from the Jurassic Coast. The village has a primary school, church and public house, as well as the Symondsbury Estate's Manor Yard, with a café, village shop, local businesses, and hair & beauty salon. The iconic local landmark Colmers Hill, with stunning panoramic views of the sea and beautiful rolling countryside is circa 30 mins walk.
