The station has services to London from around 50 minutes whilst at the southern end of Trumpington, the M11 heads north to A1, M1 and M6 and south towards Stansted Airport, London and the M25 (all distances and travel times are approximate). Cambridge South station is due to be ready in 2025 located in Cambridge adjacent to Addenbrooke's and the Biomedical Campus which will have a direct line to London.

Whittle Avenue is in catchment for Trumpington Park Primary School, Fawcett Primary School and Trumpington Community Colleg, along with independent schools for all age groups within the city centre and sixth form colleges Hills and Long Road located 2 and 1.1 miles away respectively.

Trumpington also has everyday shops including Waitrose, and Trumpington Park & Ride which provides regular services into the city centre where a further array of shopping facilities including a daily busy market and Grand Arcade shopping centre.
