Description

A beautifully presented and unlisted period house, located in a highly sought after village. Complete with up to about 3 acres, swimming pool and tennis court.

ABOUT THIS HOUSE
Originally dating from the 17th Century, Frewins Close is a beautiful period house that has been renovated and extended by the current owners, the end result of which is a superb family home in one of South Oxfordshire’s most sought after villages. Highlights include the magnificent stone fireplace in the drawing room and the substantial open plan kitchen with high quality, hand built hard wood units, electric AGA and bi fold doors which open onto the magnificently landscaped gardens, taking in the rural views beyond. There is a recently installed outdoor swimming pool with pool house and a tennis court. Additionally, there are two paddocks with further land available.

ABOUT THIS AREA
South Stoke is a rural village perched on the banks of the River Thames, almost equidistant between Reading and Oxford. This is quintessential village with attractive period buildings and an excellent pub, the Perch and Pike. Bordered by the rolling Chilterns on one side and the magnificent Berkshire Downs on the other, it’s an idyllic spot with inexhaustible options for lovers of the outdoors.

Wallingford is the closest town; with its desirable setting and attractive architecture, it offers market town living at its finest. With its large open market square and famous castle ruins, this bustling market town is suffused in history.

The large village of Goring is also close by, where there are a number of excellent pubs and restaurants, including the stylish Coppa Club, with its River Terrace overlooking the water. Goring and neighbouring Streatley have become a mecca for young families making the move from London and as a result there is a lively and vibrant atmosphere. There are fast and regular trains to the Capital from Goring and Streatley Station.

The area is well served by excellent schools, both state and private, including excellent primary schools in both Goring and Streatley as well as prep schools including Moulsford St. Andrew’s and The Oratory, as well as secondary schools including Bradfield College, Pangbourne College, Downe House and The Downs.
