Poulaines has a good local level of shopping with boulangerie, pharmacy, cafe/bar, hotel with restaurant, hairdresser and mini-mart. The village is also home to the wonderful gardens of the chateau of Poulaines. The town of Valencay (8km) offers much more including a supermarket, weekly markets, restaurants and bars, banks, doctors, vets, more shops and an interesting auto museum. The famous Valencay Chateau and its beautiful gardens are also found here.
