The Algarve has a mild Mediterranean climate. The winter temperature rarely drops below freezing point, and last year it didn't even drop below 6°C, and there are on average 300 days of sunshine a year.
An old farmhouse is for sale with large kitchen, very large living room, and three bedrooms, plus study which could be used as a fourth bedroom. There is a large partly covered patio, and a large veranda upstairs which could be developed to contain two further bedrooms.

The grounds extend to 1.6 hectares, which is approximately 3.3 acres, and which is bordered by a seasonal stream. All the boundaries are marked by trees, and the majority with a deer fence.
There is a 9m x 5m swimming pool, which does need attention, and an orange grove with about twenty orange trees and a lemon tree, plus other fruit trees, including figs and grapes.
The owner is selling because he is no longer able to look after such an estate, and warns prospective buyers that the house and garden do need updating.
The surrounding area is down to fields, an avocado orchard, and to the east, a neighbour, whose house is also for sale. Indeed the two properties could be sold together.
Lagos is four miles to the west, Portimao is 5 miles to the east. The nearest beach is 3 miles by road to the south, but just over a mile as the crow flies.
The current access is via a rough gravelled track, but the property does have an alternative right of way (at present unmade) which comes out at a roundabout with a slip road onto the A22 motorway. An alternative, and in my opinion, a better access route would be across a neighbouring piece of land which is for sale at ?40,000, and thence to a tarmac road scarcely 70 metres away.
The motorway is not visible and there is no noise. The area is very tranquil and private.
