The Byre is located in the attractive market town of Newport Shropshire. The town has a wide range of amenities, such as independent shops like boutiques, coffee shops and florists. As well as restaurants, pubs, bars and supermarkets, including Waitrose. It is well located for the Lilleshall Golf Club and Lilleshall National Sports Centre, which is around 5 minutes away. There is also a pub just one minute from The Byre called The Wheatsheaf that does food, and offers takeaway pizza numerous nights a week. Newport's town community host many events throughout the year, such as the Newport Carnival, May Fair, Newport Show and the Christmas light switch on. There are many beautiful walking routes in and around the town, such as Newport Canal, Lilleshall Abbey and Lilleshall monument, and The Wrekin.

There are many well regarded schools nearby in both the independent and state sector, including Haberdashers' Adams Grammar School, Newport Girls' High School, The Burton Borough School and Moorfield Primary School, all of these are under 5 minutes away.

There are lovely towns nearby, including Telford around 16 minutes away and the historic market town of Shrewsbury around 40 minutes away. There is also Stafford around 24 minutes away, which has a train station with a direct link to London Euston taking just over an hour. Also, trains to Birmingham New Street in 35 minutes, Birmingham International in 50 minutes and Chester in 42 minutes.
