Description

This is "Ocean", a spectacular riverboat moored at the renowned Cadogan Pier on Chelsea Embankment.

Ocean is one of a kind, being one of the largest and only powered vessels moored on the River Thames, making it completely navigable. Ocean is 34m in length, weighs 110 tonnes and was transformed from a Belgian barge, built in 1948.

Once aboard the boat we find a spacious rear deck complete with a Big Green Egg barbecue. From the rear deck we access the interior of the boat and are greeted by a generous reception room, which also acts as the wheelhouse or bridge and has a concealed access door to the engine room. The engine room houses a single Volvo Penta diesel engine. The wheelhouse has all the controls you would expect to find on every boat from satellite navigation, autopilot, generator and propulsion controls and switches for the huge forward facing butterfly windows, which open electronically, a real bonus on those hot summer days or balmy evenings.

From the wheelhouse, we enter the heart of the boat and step down into a wonderfully spacious galley and dining room, which is fitted with all the appliances you would expect of
any modern home on dry land and has a hidden larder, which any chef would be proud of. The larder also gives access into the belly of the boat, where you'll find the water storage tanks.

From the dining room we step down into the passageway serving 3 en-suite bedrooms, consisting of a principal suite and two family or guest bedrooms. We also find and a spacious playroom or media room. A fourth bedroom can be found towards the bow and accessed across the substantial deck.

Ocean is more than a home, it is a lifestyle. Ocean can often be seen crusing alone along the Thames, as the sun sets on the capital, entertaining up to 12 people when cruising or
hosting 40 people when moored.

Ocean's location is the impressive Cadogan Pier which was built in 1841 to bring affluent buyers to view Lord Cadogan's new Chelsea estate houses. The pier is in the beating heart of Chelsea and sits alongside the beautiful Albert Bridge, which was constructed some 30 years later. Chelsea Embankment gives easy access to all other areas of London, especially the world famous Kings Road, well known for it's boutique shopping and restaurants.
