Description
THE PROPERTY
Nestled in the South Somerset countryside, Yeabridge Court is an exquisite collection of Grade II listed Ham stone barn conversions within an idyllic rural location close to the amenities of South Petherton.
Number 1 commands one of the most enviable positions with fantastic views and is a fine example of contemporary design with traditional features. It is also incredibly efficient and ecofriendly with the benefit of a Daikin air source heat pump.
On first entering the property there is a real sense of charm, space and light, with a lovely hall/boot room with beautiful stripped wooden flooring. A door immediately opens out to the most fantastic open plan family kitchen, which is quite simply 'as good as it gets' with the main kitchen area at one end incorporating a number of very attractive wall and base units, including a five-ring Smeg hob and oven, and views over the delightful courtyard garden. To the other end is a dining area with plenty of room for a large breakfast table and bi-folding doors opening out to the garden, ideal for sitting on a nice summers' day.
On the ground floor is also the most exquisite sitting room with high vaulted ceilings and a modern woodburning stove. There is also direct access to the garden and paved terrace, ideal for al fresco dining or a morning cup of coffee! Alongside is a shower room and very good-sized study/bedroom commanding fantastic views of unspoilt countryside and with dual aspect windows giving natural light throughout the day. There is also underfloor heating throughout the ground floor.
The principal bedrooms are situated on the first floor, with two more beautiful bedrooms including a very good-sized master bedroom with an en suite/Jack & Jill shower room, which could therefore also be used by the second bedroom. The views from the master bedroom are quite stunning with large floor to ceiling windows. The property is immaculately presented throughout and could be moved into with ease.
The delightful garden is a very good size and safe for children and animals with a good-sized lawned area and separate garden room and office. There is also a paved courtyard all easily manageable. There is also the huge benefit of a double carport and long single garage.
All in all, this is a truly wonderful property in an idyllic yet very convenient location.
LOCATION
This part of south Somerset is rightly regarded as some of the finest in the south west, as the undulating hills and valleys give way to the wilder, and more dramatic scenery of west Dorset and the World Heritage Jurassic Coast to the south. Yeabridge is a favoured hamlet surrounded by countryside, within close proximity to the large village of South Petherton, just 1.5 miles, with a good range of local amenities including The Brewers Arms Public House, HOLM restaurant, shops, post office, pre-school & infant and junior schools, medical centre and community hospital, and veterinary surgery. The fine market towns of Crewkerne and Ilminster are both within approx. 10 minute drive and have a good range of high street and independent shops, supermarkets including Waitrose and Tesco, cafes, restaurants and pubs and leisure facilities including a leisure centre and swimming pool in Crewkerne. The larger commercial town of Yeovil is just under 10 miles away with several large 'superstore' supermarkets, out of town retail parks, leisure facilities including theatre, cinema, bowling and leisure centre with swimming pools and a large hospital. Transport links are good, with the A303 in close proximity and a mainline station in Crewkerne offering rail links with London (Waterloo) and Exeter. The M5 (J25) can be joined at Taunton. Just a 40 minute drive away is the stunning Jurassic coastline with many pretty coastal villages and towns, including the elegant resort of Lyme Regis with its attractive Cobb harbour and beaches.
