The site is accessed via a slip road from the A43 which connects with the Old Thorpeville Road, which is a left in left out junction located on the north bound side of the carriageway.
An adopted footway runs along the southern boundary of the site, and connects Old Thorpeville road in the south west corner of the site to the footpath that lies adjacent to the A43 to the east.
The topography of the site is largely flat with a gradual incline sloping downwards towards Thorpeville Road. Electricity pylons cross the site to the north of the tree belt and a gas main runs along the southern edge of the lower site.

PLANNING
The site is allocated as Amenity Green Space within the Northampton Local Plan Part 2. It is, however, noted that a planning application for residential development was submitted at the site in 2008 but was subsequently withdrawn.
