Monségur is a pretty bastide village with a thriving community and a range of amenities and independent shops, restaurants and cafés.  The large under cover market square is the hub of the village and there is a small market on Tuesdays and a larger one on Fridays.  The River Dropt runs by to the north of the village and there are some lovely picnic spots and walks along its’ banks.  Duras is just 10 mins away, renowned for its’ castles and wines, this is definitely a great town to have nearby.  Other towns and villages in the area that are well worth exploring might be Sauveterre, Libourne, Marmande, Miramont, Eymet and Saint-Foy-La-Grande.  Bergerac is about 45 mins away and Bordeaux airport approx 60 mins.
