The Steading is a pretty two-bedroom cottage which is decorated in neutral colours throughout. It is fully double-glazed and has oil fired central heating.

The Steading is accessed via shared driveway to the front of the property, a UPVC door leads to the hallway. To the right of the hallway is the utility room which has a Hotpoint tumble dryer, washing machine and fridge. Also to the right is a wet room which has a WC, wash hand basin and walk-in shower with wet wall panelling around.

To the left of the hall is the kitchen which has a good range of oak effect vinyl floor and wall units with a granite effect worksurface. There is a built-in fridge freezer, a built-in dishwasher and an integrated Neff oven and grill with four-ring LPG gas hob. A large under stairs cupboard gives extra storage. A window to the rear overlooks surrounding Croftland.

A further glazed door opens to the sitting room which again has dual aspect windows with the window to the rear enjoying lovely far-reaching views. There is a central feature of a woodburning stove on a slate hearth with a stone surround. The sitting room opens to the sun lounge which has picture windows to the front and rear and two doors to the patio.

Returning to the hall and the staircase rises to the upper floor.

Bedroom one is a spacious room with two Velux windows to front and rear. Two glazed doors open to the balcony from where you can enjoy the superb views. There is a built-in double wardrobe and fixed shelving to the side.

Bedroom two is a double room with a built-in wardrobe.

The bathroom has a WC, wash hand basin and bath which is tiled around and has a shower over.

There are two side gardens, both are fully fenced. To the right is a shed and gravelled areas with planted beds.

To the left is a patio area from where to enjoy the surroundings, a path leads down the garden to a BBQ area with wooden bench seating. There is also a wooden garden store.
There is parking available at the front of the property for two cars.

The Steading is situated in the small settlement of Altass in the Kyle of Sutherland close to the Rivers Cassley and Oykel. Its peaceful and unspoilt location is a haven for those seeking peace and solitude in a particularly attractive area of the Highlands. The fisherman, walker, golfer and country sportsman are well catered for and the golfer has a choice of a number of well-known courses including Dornoch. The nearest towns are Bonar Bridge and Lairg where there are shops, surgeries, schools and a railway station at Lairg.

Inverness is about an hour away by road and has all the facilities commensurate with a major regional centre. These include a good shopping centre, theatre, hospital, schools and a mainline railway station. Inverness airport has a variety of services both domestic and international.

From Inverness take the A9 north crossing the Kessock and Cromarty bridges. Continue to Evanton turning left on the B9176 to Ardgay and Bonar Bridge. In Bonar Bridge turn left immediately after crossing the bridge on the A836 towards Lairg. After approximately five miles turn left on the A837 towards Lochinver and Ullapool. After some 3.9 miles turn right on the minor road signposted Altass. Travel up this road and continue along until the road starts to head downhill. As you head down the hill you will see a driveway on the left with a bumblebee letter box. The driveway to The Steading is a short distance down the hill on the left-hand side.
