Description

Saddle Cottage is a beautiful two-bedroom stone cottage situated on the Cleveland Way National Trail, in the heart of the highly desirable village of Osmotherley. It boasts views over the village and the surrounding North York Moors. Ideal for those who love walking, or simply want to enjoy the delights of village life with its thriving local shop, primary school, churches, pubs and cafe. All this is within easy reach of the thriving market towns of Northallerton and Stokesley, as well as giving convenient access to the A19 for commuting and longer journeys.

The property would suit first-time buyers, young professionals, a small family, or those looking for a bolthole to get away from the stresses of a busy life. The property worked extremely well as a holiday home for several years, and could do so again. The absence of a garden can even be an advantage to owners looking to use the property as a holiday let, or as a second home. Most recently the cottage has been a successful rental property. It has now been completely refreshed, and is available for sale with no onward chain. Ideal for those looking for a more speedy purchase.

Upon entering the cottage, you come into the light and airy, open plan lounge/kitchen area. The living space is neutral throughout with vinyl flooring underfoot, feature log burner and neutral decor. The contemporary kitchen is complete with cream wall and base units, contrasting worktops, electric oven, halogen hob and space for white goods. The modern bathroom has a low-level WC, pedestal wash basin and walk-in shower cubicle.

The staircase with its feature wrought iron balustrade, winds past a beautiful Yorkshire Rose stained glass window. It leads to the first floor, where there are two great sized double bedrooms, each with oak doors. The master is spacious with original exposed beams, oak flooring underfoot, wash basin, vanity unit and a built-in storage cupboard/wardrobe. The second bedroom is another good-sized room with oak flooring, neutral décor and airing/storage cupboard.

Externally there is on-street parking as well as an outbuilding for additional storage space and bins.

The cottage underwent significant renovation work from 2020-2022 with internal wall insulation fitted to external walls, LED lighting fitted throughout, new high specification storage heaters and hot water tank installed which are both are linked to an Economy 7 electricity meter for access to cheaper tariffs. A new, high-quality, engineered timber front door with multi-point locking system and good thermal insulation was also fitted. Taken together, these give the property an exceptionally good energy efficiency and EPC rating, for this type and age of property in Osmotherley. The shower room was also completely refurbished at this time.
