Description

Welcomed in through the porch where there is ample space for coats and shoes, you then come into the living room, centred around a log burner. This room is cosy and perfect for the colder nights. The kitchen/dining room runs along the back of the house and is an impressive 26ft long, fitted with a Wren kitchen; stunning dark blue cabinets prove ample storage as well as a range cooker. In the centre is a kitchen island with a dishwasher, space and plumbing for white goods, built-in bins and a Belfast sink. At the other end of this room is a built-in bench and breakfast table with additional storage underneath, as well as space for a white fridge. This then opens on to the formal dining room, back at the front of the house with the original feature fireplace and overlooking the Mediterranean front garden, making the space incredibly private and perfect for entertaining.

Once upstairs, the landing splits off either side. On your right is the largest bedroom which has a matching feature fireplace and additional storage over the stairs. The second bedroom is a great guest room or additional double overlooking the garden. The third room, currently used as an office/spare room, also overlooks the garden and is the perfect place to sit and work while overlooking the tree line. The fourth bedroom is a large single with a smaller feature fireplace. Completing the accommodation is the family bathroom, renovated to a high standard and now with a modern white suite with underfloor heating and beautiful herringbone tiling.

Externally, the rear garden is mainly laid to lawn. Enclosed by mature shrubs and trees, you are completely private. There is also a large shed with a wood store for the log burner. At the front of the house, there is a long driveway with ample parking for at least three cars and the aforementioned Mediterranean garden with a bath and restored gate to the street.

Shrivenham is one of the larger villages within the Vale of the White Horse and without question one of the most desirable in the area, with a thriving community. The village is located circa 5 miles north-east of Swindon and circa 5 miles south-west of the market town of Faringdon. The village is ideally located for access to the M4 (8 minutes away) and the A420 leading to Oxford and beyond. In addition to the Memorial Hall on the corner of Highworth Road and newly built primary school and pre-school in Raven Way, there is a lovely tree-lined high street with shops, restaurants, public houses, a doctors’ surgery, chemist, Methodist church and parish church. There is a frequent bus service through the village from Swindon to Oxford and back, linking to rail services and airports.
