Description

Architect designed modern detached house on about 0.47 of an acre

Description

Designed by renowned local architect Nicholas Tye, this striking contemporary detached house forms part of a small development of only three homes on the edge of the popular village of Studham. The property has been designed with energy efficiency in mind, with solar panels, underfloor heating by air source heat pump and high efficiency Velfac glazing contributing to an exceptional Energy Performance Rating of 88.

The stylish and bright accommodation is laid out in two "wings" with a central linking reception hallway and vestibule. One wing contains an impressive double height sitting room with log burner and floor to ceiling glazing. A dining area with patio doors to the gardens leads through to the painted wooden kitchen with island and fitted appliances, again with sliding patio doors accessing the outside. Behind the kitchen there is a utility room, guest cloakroom, plant room and accessed from a rear hallway, a home office or further reception room. The other ground floor wing offers two good size en suite bedrooms and a snug offering scope for dependent relatives to have either a ground floor bedroom or even potentially to create an annexe.

The interesting design splits the first floor into two sections accessed by separate staircases. One wing offers two double bedrooms, both with an en suite. The other wing has a large mezzanine bedroom, bathroom and additional bedroom with balcony at the rear.

The house sits well back from the road and is approached through a gated entrance off Clements End Road. A sweeping driveway serving all three houses leads through paddocks and onto further gates to access Sunset Meadow. The driveway offers extensive parking and leads to a double garage with electric car charger, a loft above for storage and a separate alarm. There is an expanse of lawn with patio and flower beds, screened by evergreen hedging. The house has a number of exterior security cameras and alarm system.
