Description
The property was built in the 1930s as a farmhouse for the sharecroppers of the Origo family and was designed by the architect Pinsent. It housed a large family of farmers who worked the lands of the Val d'Orcia. According to the old Leopoldine land register, the land on which it stands belonged to Pope Piccolomini. In recent years, with the decline of the sharecropping system, the farmhouse was abandoned. Until 2018, when it was rediscovered and renovated to turn a stone and brick building into a place of hospitality, tranquillity and beauty.
The renovation work was carried out both inside and outside, with a careful selection of building materials, from stone to roof tiles and old bricks. Thanks to the renovation, the historical features (exposed wooden beams, terracotta floors, parquet and Tuscan travertine) were emphasized without sacrificing comfort. The old rustico was also secured with new foundations and earthquake-proof techniques.
The house is set over two levels and offers an impressive total area of 500 square meters, carefully laid out and utilized to create maximum space. While the main dwelling offers a warm and dreamy atmosphere perfect for a cozy family gathering, the additional 5 rooms available for rent offer a great place for your comfort and accommodation. Furthermore, the property offers two additional apartments for rent, perfect for accommodating guests or simply providing additional rental opportunities. The highlight of the property is certainly the breakfast and concert room. The room is generously proportioned and offers enough space for large events or intimate concerts.
However, it is not only the house itself that is a real highlight, but also the surrounding property. A whole 1.5 hectares of land surround this house and invite you to dream and relax. For nature lovers, there is the fascinating possibility of building an organic lake or an organic pool. A project has already been approved and is just waiting to be realized. The energy efficiency of the house should also not go unmentioned. With energy class A, it contributes to an environmentally conscious and sustainable lifestyle. This commitment to ecology and sustainability is also reflected in the modern photovoltaic system with an output of 10kw.
All in all, this rustico is a true paradise for the discerning buyer who wants to live in a unique and luxurious atmosphere and make their dreams come true.
