Description
Tucked away on a quiet lane is this end of terrace cottage with four bedrooms, a lovely garden and parking for several vehicles. Dating back to 1825 and formerly the village pottery, the cottage has been extended providing a comfortable and versatile home. The front entrance opens into a dining hall which has an original flagstone floor, a feature fireplace and a door to the stairs. This leads through to the garden room which has double doors opening on to the garden. On the other side of the dining hall is a wonderful generous living room which has two windows and a fireplace with exposed brick and stone and a woodburning stove. The kitchen is fitted with cupboards and drawers, an electric Rangemaster stove, a Belfast sink, an American style fridge freezer and an integrated dishwasher and washing machine. There are three windows within the room all of which overlook the kitchen garden. To one side of the kitchen is a large bathroom with a W/C, basin, bath and a separate shower. To the other side is a utility/ boiler room which also has access to the garden. Upstairs is a lovely landing leading to four double bedrooms, two in the old part and two in the extended part of the house. Two of the bedrooms have dual aspect windows and wooden floorboards. One of the bedrooms has an ensuite W/C and basin and there is a further shower room and an airing cupboard. Outside there is a wonderful garden which has been landscaped into different sections with mature trees, including willow, elder and wisteria, a terraced seating area and a lawn. The kitchen garden has several raised beds, a greenhouse and a shed.
The village has an active village hall, a public house serving good food, a church and community allotments. There are many walks and cycle paths through the surrounding countryside and within just a ten minute drive away to both Frome and Bruton.
Frome is just under 13 miles from Bath and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The town has many amenities, including good schools, independent shops, restaurants and cafés, two theatres, a cinema and a station with rail links to Bath, Bristol and London Paddington.
Bruton has a fine selection of both state and public schools, a range of shops, restaurants and cafés and a station with links to London Paddington.
