Description

This unlisted period property has been skillfully updated and presents as a contemporary yet characterful home.

The formal entrance for Masons is at the front of the house and leads straight into the expansive living room with stripped oak flooring, wooden beams and a wood burning stove.
The side door to the house is more favoured and leads to the main ground floor reception rooms including the study/snug, a wonderful room with bay window, wood flooring and a wood burner. This room has a door to the living room which in turn leads straight to the dining room, a triple aspect room with a marvellous feature oast chimney originally used for hop burning when the property was a pub.

The kitchen/dining room lies to the rear of the property and benefits from a four door Aga, beautiful porcelain tiles and a range of fitted wall and base units. The pantry comes off this room.

To the first floor, the principal bedroom lies to the front of the house and has a beautiful dressing area alongside the en suite bathroom. There are four further bedrooms or five should you decide to use one of the bedrooms' adjoining dressing rooms as a bedroom. The large family bathroom at the rear also gives access to the separate utility room.

Outside
There is a small formal garden to the front of the property but the main garden lies to the rear and faces south and west.
Immediately outside the kitchen is a wide stone paved terrace from which to enjoy alfresco dining. A gentle step takes you up to the large lawned area which is fully enclosed, not overlooked and bordered with mature shrubs and trees. A greenhouse and shed are also available.

From Back Lane Masons can be accessed across the gated and gravelled drive with off-street parking for several cars.

Location

Masons is situated in Vernham Dean, a popular pretty village within the Bourne Valley, surrounded by countryside, that lies to the north of Andover and has a church, school, traditional country public house and village hall.

Further amenities are available in Andover. With easy access to mainline stations ( Andover and Newbury 9 miles and 15 miles respectively) and the national road network (via the A34 and A303), Masons is a well-located village house with excellent communications. The village primary school is well supported and is complemented by a pre-school which is also located within the village. A range of secondary schools are available in Andover but perhaps the most popular is The Clere School in Burghclere and there are also a number of well regarded of private schools such as Farleigh and Cheam.

The area surrounding the village is part of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The countryside beyond the village contains a network of footpaths and bridleways which can be accessed without having to get into the car and which are perfect for exercising dogs and children.
