Description

Jon-Paul Brampton presents...Perriwigs Cottage, a Rothschild built oasis of charm in wonderful Wingrave.

the property

This Victorian, Rothschild built home, really is like no other. You could be forgiven for being unaware of it's existence such is the charm of its location.  Part of a selection of Rothschild cottages that run around the perimeter of Wingrave's famous Recreation Ground. This home is accessed via a small wooden gate on Dark Lane, preceeding the Recreation Ground as you enter Wingrave from the Tring direction.

The characterful home really only starts to reveal itself as you walk along the garden path, as the treeline dissipates, so the house appears. A beautiful home in an oasis-like garden that encircles the property, providing immense privacy and natural beauty that can be enjoyed from every window.

As you enter the front door there is an entrance hall with terracotta tiled flooring and space for shoes and coats. To one flank of the house is a refitted kitchen/diner, with plentiful storage, worktop space and utilities, whilst benefiting from space in which to dine. French doors lead out to the garden creating a wonderful connection to the outside.

Adjacent there is a downstairs shower room, with WC, which also houses the washing machine.

Two reception rooms then interlink, to provide options as to how you may want to use them. A formal living room and playroom? Or perhaps a formal dining room. Either way both are charming and boast open fireplaces and pleasant aspects out on to the garden.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The main bedroom boasts vaulted ceilings, and they all boast wondrous views, whether they are over the ancient Ridgeway  or towards the Recreation Ground and beyond.

All in all a truly unique and characterful home in a private spot! But please do not just take my word for it, browse the photos, watch the video tour and then if you think this could be the home for you, please get in touch to arrange a viewing.

the location

Wingrave is an extremely charming hilltop village heavily influenced by Rothschild architecture. There are plenty of local amenities including a local shop, Church, school, public house, garage and famous village pond.

But that is really just the tip of the iceberg, as if ever there was a village with a true village community it is Wingrave. There are a plethora of local clubs and societies for whatever tickles your fancy. Whether it be bowls or netball, there is something for everyone. During the warmer months a village BBQ takes place every other Friday on the Recreation Ground. A chance for villagers to meet and connect. There is afternoon tea at the church on a Wednesday, Curry, Pizza or Spuds night at the Community Centre. The village involves itself heavily in Bucks Art Week as there are numerous artists within the village, as well as holding open garden events.

In terms of broader amenities, the market towns of Aylesbury, Tring and Leighton Buzzard are all close by with their High Streets and Supermarkets, as well as all offering rail services into London.

Local schools include Wingrave CoE Combined and access to the Grammar schools of Aylesbury.
