Situation

Maunsel Street (built circa 1820) is named after a 13th century landowner called John Maunsel and was formerly known as New Street. The early gas lamp posts that still line the street are Grade II listed. This one way street lies to the east of Vincent Square (Westminster School playing fields). Although Vincent Square is not open to the public one can become a member and enjoy using the tennis courts within the square. Victoria Tower (Houses of Parliament) is clearly visible at one end of the street and stands as a reminder to the proximity of some of Londons most iconic landmarks, which also includes Buckingham Palace and St. James's Park (0.5 miles). A wide range of shops, bars, restaurants and amenities can be found on Horseferry Road including the daily market at Strutton Ground. Victoria Station (0.5m) provides access to mainline train services, Gatwick Express, Circle, District and Victoria tube lines with a further tube station at St. James's Park (0.5m) for the District and Circle line.
