Description
We’ve lived in our home for the past 18 years and if we did not have to relocate we would not be selling it. We have good neighbours and live in a very quiet area. We love our large sunny garden where we’ve created a calm and tranquil space to sit and relax. Our sociable kitchen diner allows us to entertain and allow the beauty of our garden in, by opening up the bi-fold doors on a sunny day. We have used a lot of colour in our home to make it a warm and inviting.
This house is situated in the quiet cul-de-sac, Bushythorn Road on the south-eastern side of the ever-popular Chew Stoke village, close to Chew Valley Lake. The location of the house is ideal for those wanting to be in the outstanding countryside of Chew Valley, with the village itself offering a pub, (which has a fantastic Indian Restaurant), café and shop as well as being home to the well-regarding Chew Valley School. Around Chew Valley Lake sits several eateries for which many people travel regularly from Bristol and Bath, including the The Pony, Woodford Lodge, The Blue Bowl Inn and the Salt and Malt Fish and Chips. Chew Magna is just a short drive or gentle walk away and is home to several great venues including The Bear and Swan, The Pelican and popular seafood restaurant The Lazy Lobster. For an evening tipple, head to The Wine Rooms, an independent bar and shop that runs regular tasting events. The village is also home to Moondance coffee shop, Jars Delicatessen and Banksia florist and gift shop. The wider area also offers lots of natural beauty, through the nearby Mendips and spots such as Burrington Combe, Crooks Peak and Cheddar Gorge. Access into Bristol or to Bath area also fairly simple from this area, (There is also a new bus service which operates into Bristol and another Chew Valley Hopper which stops in the villages), so this location can offer the best of both rural and urban life. At the beginning of August the local music festival “Valleyfest” happens which is approximately a 20 minute walk from Bushythorn Road.
The house itself has been extended by the current owners to significantly improve the options for living space within the home and notably improve the flow of the inside space out to the westerly facing rear garden, which is open to the south and there enjoys lots of sun. To the ground floor, the kitchen/diner is the hub of the house, with its contemporary kitchen and ‘New-Wave Doors’ to the garden, which can both fold and slide and come with built in blinds. The ground floor also houses a utility area, WC, reading room/study and a living room, with its own doors to the rear garden. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, the master bedroom has an ensuite and newly fitted Sharps wardrobes, and a family bathroom – which make this home fantastic for family living. The house also benefits from a good sized front garden and parking for several vehicles.
