Vivian’s Wing forms part of Glynn House, an impressive Grade II* listed mansion that stands out amongst the scenic Glynn Valley. Believed to have originally been built in the late eighteenth century, the property was rebuilt and refronted by Edmund John Glynn (High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1805) and remodelled again in 1819 after it was damaged in a fire. The property was then remodelled again circa 1833 by Sir Richard Hussey Vivian. The mansion has since been split into separate units, but still retains an abundance of period features, including ornate fireplaces, high ceilings with cornicing and large sash windows with some original shuttering
Vivian’s Wing is accessed via the side of the manor, through ornate metal gates that also lead to the communal courtyard. Its imposing architecture and offers affordable real grandeur. The front door opens to a welcoming large entrance hall with doors leading the most elegant living room the kitchen/dining room and small cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin. There is a turning staircase leading to the first floor with a useful under stairs cupboard, offering plenty of storage and housing the boiler.
The spacious living room has high ceilings with fine cornicing, plus also has a feature fireplace and a built in shelving unit.
