The popular, sought after village of Kalives is located 20 km east of Chania and 40 km west of Rethymno, on the north coast of Crete. The area manages to combine a scenery of woods, hills and mountains with the amazing friendly beaches surrounded by original rustic Cretan architecture. Kalives is not just a tourist destination; it is a real living and working village, set at the entrance of the Souda Bay, with several taverns, cafes, shops, hotels and close to the National Road for a quick drive to the town of Chania and the International airport.

Several busses a day are going from the centre of the village into the town of Chania, which is 18km west.
