The village itself has a monthly pop up bar and visit from a local pizza van, village hall, park, tennis court and play area. The village is surrounded by unspoilt countryside with lovely community walks.

Beaford Community Primary and Nursery School falls within catchment with a free bus service from Roborough. High Bickington C of E Academy is 3.8 miles and Great Torrington School is within catchment also providing a bus service. Chulmleigh Academy is 4 miles distant. Private schooling is available at West Buckland with a bus link on the edge of the village.
