This characteristic lava stone farmhouse is the emblem of late 19th-century Sicilian architecture. It's in the countryside of Castiglione di Sicilia and surrounded by the vineyards of the most important wineries of northern Etna, between the Alcantara river and Mount Etna.
The property is located near the characteristic hamlet of Verzella, in an isolated spot not far from the banks of the Alcantara river, which guarantees privacy, tranquillity and a spectacular view of Etna and the Nebrodi mountains.
The farmhouse is on three levels and a recent renovation has brought to light the ancient peculiarities of the property, including the millstone with its typical stone floor and the beautiful vaulted roofs of the rooms on the ground floor. An external staircase leads to the palmento located on the first floor, a single room of approximately 100 square metres on various levels, characterised by the ancient vats for crushing grapes, skilfully recovered during the renovation work. The residence is on the second floor and has two entrances, one internal from the millstone to the floor below and one external. The floor of approximately 125 square metres consists of a large living room with a central fireplace and beautiful beamed roofs, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, service rooms and a kitchenette, decorated with old majolica tiles. All the rooms provide a view of the surrounding countryside and a large terrace offers space for outdoor conviviality.
The garden is bordered by stone walls and covers an area of approximately 1,400 square metres.
A rural building of approximately 65 sqm completes the property.
