Description
Until the end of the 19th century Pharaoh's Island was formally known, as 'Dog Ait' acquiring its name following the construction of the 'The Sphinx' being first house on the island commissioned by Sir Cyril Atkinson, an English High Court Judge and Conservative Party politician, who's hobbies included Egyptology. Subsequent properties on the island followed were named in the Egyptian theme, so the island was renamed Pharaoh's Island. Over the years the island has also played host to a number of celebrities, artists and notorieties, who appreciate the privacy and seclusion offered by its boat only access.
Manana offers well-proportioned accommodation with a large double aspect, beamed living room that retains its open fireplace and patio doors open into a timber framed conservatory and a raised riverside terrace. Adjoining is the kitchen that is separated by a breakfast bar with a separate utility room adjacent. To the rear are two double bedrooms and a 4-piece bathroom.
The bungalow is set back on its plot with a paved courtyard and shed to the rear and has a gate opening onto the communal Green. The main body of the garden is to the front, to take advantage of the panoramic river views and 50’ river frontage with a concrete landing stage and berth. It is mainly laid to lawn with established shrub beds and a path leading to the property.
Services: The property is connected to all main services.
Council Tax: F Parking: There is a small resident's carpark adjoining the communal landing stage on the Shepperton bank.
