Why you’ll like it:
Pretty, cast-iron balconies festooned with climbing flowers give Whistler Court its unique character while softening the modern lines of the development. It is hugely attractive on the approach with expertly tended communal lawns and a driveway sweeping round to the rear of the building for parking where there is an allocated space for this flat. Entering via a secure entry phone system, the communal halls are also impeccably clean and well-maintained, with the door to this apartment on the top floor which has lift access.
Once inside, the scale of the flat becomes apparent as the corridor is wide and welcoming, stretching through the depth of the flat to the bright and sunlit living room at the far end.
Nicely tucked away from the main living space, however, are the bedrooms. Both rooms are generous doubles with space for king beds and freestanding furnishings without compromising on floor space. The principal bedroom also benefits from a wall of built in wardrobes and both rooms have double glazed windows and carpets in cream to suit all styles of furnishing.
Conveniently opposite is the contemporary bathroom where fun herringbone tiling adds a pop of welcome colour against a gleaming white bath suite with a shower over it, while the WC is separate next door – ideal for guests.
While the kitchen is galley in style, it is wider than most giving plenty of space for the keen cook or for socialising. Sleek and streamlined with two-tone gloss cabinetry and high-end integrated appliances, it is good to go with a breakfast bar at one end with space for two stools.
Stepping into the living room, it is naturally light and wonderfully spacious with dual aspect windows to bring in the sunshine and cool breeze from the park. Double doors open to the balcony enjoying views across Preston Park which are ever changing with the seasons, so whatever the time of year you can sit out here and watch the world go by. This room is large enough to have clearly defined areas for formal dining and relaxed seating, and even in winter it feels warm and cosy with gas central heating in situ to warm you through the cooler months.
Agent’s thoughts:
These apartments are incredibly spacious and light, and the views from the balcony are beautiful. It is also a very well-maintained building with a gardener and a communal area cleaner - all of which are covered in the maintenance fee.
Owner’s thoughts:
‘We have loved every moment of living here – not only the peace within the apartment and the stunning views across the park, but also the convenience of the location. It is incredibly quiet with virtually no noise from the neighbours and its wonderfully warm as the heating (and water pressure) is hugely efficient. Location wise, it’s hugely convenient as you can walk into the city in minutes and the park is such a joy to have on your doorstep in summer. We need a bit more space, but we will miss it here!’
