Seller Insight
“River Glade has been a treasured family home since 1959. What first captivated us was the home’s extraordinary riverside position and uninterrupted views across the meadows. We benefit from private mooring and rights to the river, and the land around us is protected by covenants, maintaining the natural beauty and privacy of the surroundings. The area is part of a designated conservation area, so it remains wonderfully unspoiled.
We have made a number of improvements over the years, including replacing all the windows for greater comfort and efficiency. Every room captures a different aspect of the surrounding scenery, and the lounge, with its spectacular 40ft windows, is a particular highlight. It’s flooded with light in the summer and incredibly cosy in the winter, thanks to the open fire.
The garden has been a constant source of joy. We built a cabin with Wi-Fi and electricity which allowed me to work from home while enjoying peaceful views of the river. By night, the moonlight reflecting on the water is just magical. We’ve seen otters, kingfishers, and so much more, it’s a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers alike.
We’ll miss many things—the ever-changing views, the peacefulness, and the wonderful neighbours. But most of all, we’ll miss the connection to nature that River Glade has given us each day. Even after all these years, the views still take our breath away.”
