Exceptional Riverside Home with Beautiful Gardens and Direct River Access.

Nestled on the prestigious Crosshall Road, this beautifully maintained single-storey riverside home offers a rare opportunity to move into a ready-made sanctuary with outstanding meadow views, private mooring, and direct access to the River Great Ouse. Set within approximately 0.66 acres of landscaped gardens, this property is within walking distance of both the town centre and train station, offering the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience.

Behind wrought iron gates, a spacious driveway leads to the garage, offering ample parking. The thoughtfully designed home features three bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, and a striking split-level sitting/dining room. Expansive patio doors frame the panoramic garden views and open onto a terrace, providing the ideal setting to enjoy the stunning landscape and riverside setting.

The layout lends itself to flexible living and includes a self-contained annexe—perfect for multi-generational living or guest accommodation without the need for alteration. There is also a cellar, offering excellent storage or further potential.

The extensive gardens were designed and are maintained by an RHS Qualified Garden designer. They are beautifully landscaped with mature specimen trees, sweeping lawns, and well-stocked borders. Generous patio spaces provide options for entertaining, and a charming cabin with Wi-Fi and electricity offers a peaceful retreat or inspiring workspace year-round.

Whether you are looking to enjoy the home exactly as it is or explore the potential for extension (subject to planning), this is a unique opportunity to secure a dream riverside residence in one of the area's most desirable locations.

Seller Insight
“River Glade has been a treasured family home since 1959. What first captivated us was the home’s extraordinary riverside position and uninterrupted views across the meadows. We benefit from private mooring and rights to the river, and the land around us is protected by covenants, maintaining the natural beauty and privacy of the surroundings. The area is part of a designated conservation area, so it remains wonderfully unspoiled.

We have made a number of improvements over the years, including replacing all the windows for greater comfort and efficiency. Every room captures a different aspect of the surrounding scenery, and the lounge, with its spectacular 40ft windows, is a particular highlight. It’s flooded with light in the summer and incredibly cosy in the winter, thanks to the open fire.

The garden has been a constant source of joy. We built a cabin with Wi-Fi and electricity which allowed me to work from home while enjoying peaceful views of the river. By night, the moonlight reflecting on the water is just magical. We’ve seen otters, kingfishers, and so much more, it’s a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers alike.

We’ll miss many things—the ever-changing views, the peacefulness, and the wonderful neighbours. But most of all, we’ll miss the connection to nature that River Glade has given us each day. Even after all these years, the views still take our breath away.”
