Project for the reconstruction and expansion of an old house in ruins, in Sítio do Telheiro, in the parish of Santa Bárbara de Nexe.

The idea behind the project was to pay homage to the existing ruin and the location where it is located.

Sítio do Telheiro acquired this name because it is a place of clay land that in the past housed Algarvian tile production activities.

This project defines a compromise between a traditional Algarve design and a contemporary and innovative component, a current reinterpretation of that same design, shaping the proposed building with the context of the site.

Examples of this reinterpretation include the height of the façade, the thickness of the walls, the terracotta tiles, the limestone ornamentation and the picturesque Algarve chimney.
