Description
A particularly charming period cottage perfectly positioned within the village of Blagdon and being just a stone's throw from The Village Stores and The Coffee Station, an independent coffee shop in the heart of the village. With all of the amenities that Blagdon has to offer, Redwood Cottage really does offer a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life yet within such easy reach of daily necessities.
On entering the cottage, you immediately walk into a light entrance hallway with quarry tiled floor, to your left the pretty sitting room with it's two windows to the front and side elevations, the largest window being hardwood timber sash double glazed with window seat and shutters, a gorgeous stone open fireplace fitted with a woodburning stove is the centrepiece of this very pretty room. Beyond the sitting room you'll find the well planned and attractive kitchen fitted with a range of neutral wall and base units in cream, built in oven and microwave and hob, extractor hood, integrated dishwasher and plumbing for a washing machine. Two feature windows take in the view of the stunning cottage gardens beyond and additional window to the side elevation. Again attractive quarry tiles to the floor. There is a handy storage cupboard to the rear of the hallway and also an understairs cupboard with rear door leading to the simply gorgeous cottage gardens.
From the entrance hall, stairs rise to the first floor and the two bedrooms. The first bedroom, a double, with hardwood sash window to the front and pretty fireplace and window to the side elevation. The second bedroom, a small double, overlooking the front again with hardwood timber sash window. The bathroom has a white suite with a shower over the bath, wash handbasin and W.C. and window to the rear gardens. There is an airing cupboard to the landing which houses the combination boiler.
To the outside, the pretty and surprisingly large rear cottage gardens are mainly to lawn, being such a feature of the property and circa 70ft in length, filled with an array of mature shrubs and trees, being particularly private and quiet with a quaint area of patio to the rear of the gardens - unwinding in the summer months would be simply perfect. There is also a handy garden store.
To the front of the property, to the end of the quiet lane access via a gate through to The Mead, a large area of grassland bordering the Parish Church with the Village itself and having views of the wonderful Blagdon Lake.
