Location

Blue Vein is a pretty hamlet situated just up from Kingsdown and the village of Box. There is a small collection of pretty period properties and an old toll house surrounded by glorious countryside and open fields.

Local amenities include Kingsdown Golf Course, swimming at Ashley Wood as well as livery and stables nearby. There are a number of excellent public houses nearby including the King's Arms at Monkton Farleigh, the Long Arms at South Wraxall and the Fox at Broughton Gifford.

The village of Box (1 mile approx.) is close by, providing local amenities, including shops, cafes and local primary school.

A further range of amenities for one’s daily needs, including alternative schools, can be found nearby in Corsham (approx. 3.8 miles) and Bradford on Avon (approx. 4.8 miles).

The World Heritage city of Bath, famed for its Roman heritage and Georgian architecture, is approximately 5.5 miles distant. Bath has a comprehensive range of business, education, entertainment and cultural facilities as well as a mainline rail links to Bristol (journey time approx. 15 minutes) and London Paddington (journey time approx. 90 minutes). Chippenham railway station is within 9 miles and also provides mainline links to Paddington and Bristol.
