Description
Brickworks Says - Although they often have great attributes, many new developments lack that elusive sense of character. Not so this two-bedroom flat in Holloway. Spaces have been brought to life with colour, skillfully creating distinct atmospheres in each room. The living room is welcoming in sandy ochre, while the kitchen's terracotta tone adds Mediterranean warmth to its sleek design. Or, take our favourite, the second bedroom. Painted in a bold yet calming coffee brown, it makes a striking statement that works exceptionally well.
Being a new build, the flat comes with a reassuringly high energy rating, and careful thought has clearly gone into the practical layout. The enclosed balcony, separated by a wall of glass, extends the living space, effectively creating an additional "room" during warmer months. There are two bathrooms, including one ensuite, and two double bedrooms with integrated storage and a good degree of separation. We love the windows that run to the floor, which open up the spaces and flood them with sunlight. This is especially true of the south-facing main bedroom, where the windows take full advantage of the views of the budding landscaped gardens below.
Holloway brings a blend of culture and community spirit and is continually evolving. Enjoy a coffee from Bear + Wolf, let Salvino take care of your deli needs, or head to the Tufnell Park Tavern for a pint and pizza. With a hive of activity on your doorstep, Niemann Court is handily positioned at the intersection of distinctive neighbourhoods like Kentish Town and Highbury to tap into and explore. You also have access to Highbury Fields and Hampstead Heath to get your fix of green spaces.
The Owners Say - My time here has been wonderful. It's a peaceful sanctuary in the heart of an energetic neighbourhood and an ideal base for making the most of all that London has to offer. The flat has an uncanny ability to be 30 minutes or less from everywhere you would want to visit–whether going to a gig at Camden's Roundhouse, taking a dip at Parliament Hill Lido, or getting some retail therapy at Coal Drops Yard.
The hope was to curate a space with all the perks of a modern home but with the warmth and character of something older. The block is functional and understated, with a well-kept communal courtyard and gardens that can be seen from our bedroom – it's so lovely to wake up to sunlight streaming through the window and the sight of grass and plants. Plus, the flat has excellent sound insulation, so getting your 8 hours of sleep is never an issue! We say farewell with a heavy heart.
