Description

From the front of the house, steps lead up to the front door and to the impressive entrance hall with marble floor and elegant staircase. On either side are two formal reception rooms featuring open fireplaces, bay windows, wooden and carpeted floors. Beyond is a lovely elegant dining room with china cupboards, working shutters and a connecting door to the garden room. Steps from the hall lead to an inner hall with cupboards to one side and door to a snug sitting room; brick floors, original range cooker, full height fitted cupboards and access down to the twin cellars.

The superb bespoke fitted kitchen is in the heart of the house and has a comprehensive range of base and wall mounted units including plate racks and an oval central island with granite worktops and raised breakfast bar. There is a two oven oil fire Aga and a four plate hob, electric oven and dishwasher. Recess for an American style fridge freezer and pantry cupboard.

To one side is a play room/breakfast area with oak flooring, cupboards and attractive fireplace also benefitting from French doors leading directly to the kitchen garden. The kitchen is open plan to the impressive orangery/garden room, built in 2016, with oak flooring, as well as stunning views and doors out to the gardens.

The main landing has panel doors to the delightful front bedrooms with built-in cupboards and an impressive en suite bathroom with the principal bedroom. The middle single bedroom of the three is currently used as an office. The rear landing has three well-fitted bathrooms and three/four further bedrooms (bedroom six accessed through a study room/bedroom seven).

Outside
The house is approached from the road via a side access (near the bridge) which leads over a sweeping gravel drive passing a five-bar gate and continuing to a large parking area to the rear of the house. To one side is an outbuilding comprising a double cart lodge, two garages and a workshop. There is also a former stable used as a wood store, garden store and craft/studio room/home office. The former stable/garden store and hobby room has the potential to be converted to further accommodation

The house also has an in out carriageway drive to the front with an established yew hedged screen. The main gardens have delightful herbaceous beds, lawns, terrace areas, a hard tennis court and an acer walk with numerous spring bulbs. Beyond the main lawned garden is a stream with a beautiful Monet-style bridge that leads to the meadow with mature trees. To the side of the house is a productive kitchen garden with greenhouse, vegetable beds and espalier fruit trees.
