Description
Brickworks Says - All the perks of a house, in an Edwardian maisonette. Open your own front door to be greeted by the lovingly-restored original floorboards that take you up to the upper floors and feature throughout. The space opens up into a welcoming hallway, leading you to the main living area where the table nestled in the bay window invites you to instantly relax. On this floor are also two of the bedrooms, one enjoying a bonus built-in cupboard and shelves. Up the stairs, a versatile (and historically unofficial) third bedroom feels a world away tucked beneath the rafters.
The spaces are complemented by details that add character, such as the striking cast-iron fireplaces, as well as practical touches. The galley kitchen, with its butler sink and five burner gas hob, puts everything easily in reach and handily hides the washing machine away. And outside, the generously proportioned shared garden has been decked by the current owners: maximum enjoyment, minimum upkeep.
Situated around the corner from Chestnuts Park in an enduringly popular pocket of North London, Abbotsford Avenue has an enviable location. The area is constantly evolving, with a mix of new, tasty additions such as Yard Sale and Perkyn's shaking things up, and old favourites The Salisbury and The Palm, as well as Green Lanes’ plethora of Turkish restaurants keeping the locals happy. And with Haringey being lined up for London Borough of Culture in 2027, exciting projects are afoot in years to come.
The Owners Say - We love this home. When we first found the flat, we honestly knew next to nothing about the area and what to expect from life in South Tottenham. But living here has surpassed every expectation, to the point where our current property hunt is confined to a 500-metre radius of our front door!
While the area is vibrant and exciting, the main reason we love living here is the property itself. Spacious, airy, and full of light, this maisonette feels more like a self-contained house than a flat. The original fireplaces and floorboards combine comfort with history, while the loft
room and gorgeous garden are the icing on the cake. The heart of the home is the lounge. When the sun is setting, nothing beats sitting on the sofa, looking at our neighbour’s stunning magnolia. If you can't tell, we genuinely love it here. This is a truly magical place and we hope to hand it over to someone who sees in it what we see.
