Description
Description
Romsdale is an impressive red sandstone detached Victorian villa with approximately 2,406 square feet of well organised living accommodation over two floors. The property enjoys uninterrupted aspects over the Firth of Clyde and a gate leading directly down to the water’s edge. The surrounding grounds extend to around 0.6 acres and are mainly lawned with a wide variety of trees and shrubs.
The property begins with an entrance vestibule leading to a central hallway, off which are the main reception rooms. The drawing room and sitting room are positioned to the front of the house, both positioned to take advantage of the spectacular views, and the latter with bay windows typical of the period which bring in an abundance of light. They also both display decorative cornicing, central ceiling roses and feature fireplaces in-keeping with the wonderful character of the rooms.
The hallway leads further to a bedroom/study and formal dining room, with kitchen off. The kitchen is well appointed with a range of multi-level cabinetry and double patio doors leading into the extensive gardens. An expansive utility room and handy shower room complete the ground floor accommodation. The first floor is made up of four bedrooms offering flexible accommodation, two of which benefit from en suite shower rooms. The main Jack and Jill family bathroom sits down the hall and includes a bath with shower.
Outside, the grounds include a substantial detached garage and separate store. The gated entrance leads to a large gravelled parking area with space for multiple vehicles. The grounds lead down to the beachfront and offer gated access directly to the shore.
Location
Romsdale occupies a magnificent shorefront location on the southern point of the Cowal Peninsula on the west coast of Scotland with spectacular views over the Clyde Estuary and towards Arran and Cumbrae.
