Directions
From the south: take the A590 towards the M6 and turn left onto the A5074 at Gilpin Bridge, then follow the signs to Bowness-on-Windermere on the Lyth Valley Road. Continue for approximately 5 miles, passing the Lyth Valley Hotel. After about 0.5 mile, Tarnside is located to the right, at the foot of the hill which leads to the road junction back to Crosthwaite village.
From the north: take the A590 towards Barrow and turn right at Gilpin Bridge onto the A5074 and follow the directions above.
Kendal is approximately 7 miles, Bowness-on-Windermere approximately 4 miles. Junction 36 on the M6 is approximately a 15-minute drive from Tarnside.
Location
Located at the heart of the historic village of Crosthwaite, there is The Punch Bowl, a popular 17th century inn, as well as a village hall, tennis club and St Mary’s church. Accessible to both Kendal, Windermere, and Lancaster, whilst the historic village of Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and Priory, is just 15 minutes away and offers a further choice of pubs and restaurants including the Michelin starred L'Enclume.
