Peter Tavy lies on the western edge of Dartmoor with the open moor on its dorstep. Within the village there is a strong community, a pub, St Peters Church and a village hall. It also on the Devon Coast to Coast cycle route.

It lies about 3 miles north of the popular market town of Tavistock, which provides an excellent range of amenities, including Mount Kelly School, the Award winning Pannier Market (it has won the award of Best Large Indoor Market in Britain) and a good range of sports and social clubs.

It is also accessible to the A30 dual carriageway about 11 miles to the north.

Wisdom House is a Grade II listed former farmhouse in the centre of the village. The pleasing main front facade of the house with its symetrical sash windows gives an indication of the equally pleasing interiors. The main part of the house has tall ceilings and orignal detailing in the joinery, fireplaces and some flagstone flooring. The house has been extended most recently with the addition of a bright kitchen/ breakfast room with an opening glass wall at one end that extends the space outdoors onto a dining terrace enjoying views and the afternoon and evening sun.

The elegant stiarcase rises at the rear of the house serving both upper floor. On the first floor the two main bedrooms are bright and lit from the wide sash windows. The upper floor bedrooms are in the roof space and are naturally lit from roof lights.

The house stands in a level largely walled plot of just over 1/4 acre. There is parking at the rear of the property and a separate garage at the front. The gardens lie principally at the front of the house where an inviting path from the village street through the garden wall leads up to the front porch.

Behind the house two stone barns provide ample domestic storage areas. The upper floor of one barn has been used as a games room, whilst the other is in use as a discrete home office with a wood burning stove for heating.
