Introduction

Plas Onn is an impressive period residence which is believed to date in its oldest part from the 1600’s. The property is predominately over two-storeys being constructed of brick & stone beneath rendered elevations under a slate roof. Previously, Plas Onn was remodelled to be symmetrical in design with two storey elevations either side of the front door and proud of the stone veranda at the front. In the early 20th Century many alterations were made to create what is seen today. Since the late 20th century, the property has been adapted and altered to create family living with the inclusion of an outdoor swimming pool to the rear. Of late, the current owners have undertaken various works of improvement and future proofing to include re-rendered, re-painting, new coping stones & lead flashing, hard & soft landscaping to the rear, replacement of some windows and all of which has been done tastefully and sensitively. Whilst the property has undergone a scheme of works to improve and enhance the property there are some areas which could be further improved, namely the kitchen and master bedroom suite. The kitchen previously had planning permission which has recently lapsed, to extend the kitchen to the side to create a larger, open plan kitchen and the master suite has been stripped back, log burning flu fitted and now needs plastering and floors fitting to create what would be an impressive master suite, potentially with vaulted ceiling, exposed beams & purlins and en-suite bathroom.

Location

Plas Onn occupies a peaceful semi-rural location in the village of Nercwys and enjoys an elevated setting with lovely views across open countryside. The village of Nercwys is approximately 2 miles from the market town of Mold which provides a comprehensive range of services for everyday needs with shops, pubs restaurants, supermarkets, doctors and dentist surgeries. The larger centres of Wrexham and Chester are all within close proximity, offering a more comprehensive range of services with High Street retailers and supermarkets complemented by out-of-town retail parks including the Outlet Village at Cheshire Oaks and Broughton Retail Park.

On the recreational front there are golf courses at Mold, Northop and Chester, several shoots nearby and football, rugby and cricket clubs in Mold. For those with equestrian interests there is racing at Bangor on Dee and Chester. Schooling is well catered for with a primary school in the village and a choice of both private and state schools nearby including King’s and Queen’s in Chester and Ruthin School.

Communications

Plas Onn is well placed for travel being within 5 miles of the A55 expressway facilitating fast access across coastal North Wales and connecting with the national motorway network beyond Chester. The general area enjoys good road links and is extremely convenient for both Wrexham and Chester. The Chester Business Park, Deeside Industrial Park and Wrexham Industrial Estate are all within daily travel and beyond Chester the A55 Expressway connects to the M53 & M56 motorways serving Liverpool & Manchester which are both within daily commuting distance. There is a 2 hour rail service to London Euston from Chester Station and also local station at Pennyffordd which is on the Wrexham Line.
