The Property
Coopers Cottage is a beautifully restyled Grade II Listed house with a wealth of period features including inglenook fireplaces, stone floors and exposed timbers. It is typical of a West Sussex country house with tile hung upper elevations over brick walls, a delightful garden and pleasant views across adjacent pasture but there is a very attractive contemporary atmosphere following a thoughtful restyling of the house and its facilities.

With a gravelled drive, Coopers Cottage has plenty of parking beyond a gated driveway and a double garage. There is a formal access to the house, ideal for entertaining and a less formal access to the boot room and utility via a covered porch for muddy boots and a secure, dry area for logs, boots or deliveries.

From the entrance hall there is a vaulted sitting room with exposed beams and a fabulous aspect over the swimming pool and terrace. The sitting room has a woodburning stove and sliding doors that make it a great space all year round.

At the other end of the hall centred on a brick fireplace with another woodburning stove is an equally attractive sitting room area and dining room neatly divided by exposed beams. Beyond this room is the study, nicely tucked away but with a dual aspect over the driveway and side garden.

Either side of the magnificent fireplace is access to the kitchen/ breakfast room which also features the other side of the Inglenook fireplace and a woodburning stove. The kitchen is very well equipped with range cooker, a bespoke island for food preparation and informal dining and fitted kitchen units including integrated dishwasher. The kitchen leads to the utility room and cloakroom and then to the covered porch. Upstairs there are three excellent double bedrooms, all unique in their own way. Two of the double bedrooms are supported by a family shower room and the main bedroom has a superb bathroom (with standalone shower and bath), excellent cupboard space and a dressing rooms as well as a very large cupboard, also used as a dressing area.

Gardens and Grounds
There are two main garden areas, one to the south of the property with mature borders and a mixture of shrubs and plants. This area is mainly laid to lawn with a part gravel, part stone accessway. The other garden area links nicely with the eastern flank of the house with the heated swimming pool and terrace area.

The Location
Coopers Cottage is located in Strood Green, a rural hamlet within the South Downs National Park. The larger village of Wisborough Green is 1.5 miles away with its iconic village green, village shop, post office, church and two pubs. The larger town of Petworth is nearby and offers a good range of shops and restaurants, whilst Billingshurst provides further shopping facilities, schools, a leisure centre and mainline station to London.

There are excellent recreational facilities in the area, with polo at Cowdray Park, racing at Goodwood and Fontwell, golf at Cowdray Park, Pulborough and Liphook and sailing out of Chichester Harbour and other centres along the South Coast. There is walking and riding on numerous footpaths and bridleways in the area and on the South Downs nearby as well as the benefit of Gatwick (around 40 mins by car) and Heathrow Airports (1hr 15 mins by car) comfortably in reach.
