Good Aspects: One of the main benefits of living in this area is the convenience. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets nearby, which makes everyday errands easy. The city centre is just minutes away, offering access to restaurants, entertainment, and more. Public transport links are also excellent, with buses and trams right outside, making commuting very straightforward. Bad Aspects: On the downside, there is a social housing building opposite which is often noisy, and the atmosphere from that area can sometimes feel unwelcoming. Additionally, being so close to Broad Street has its drawbacks, it’s known for being noisy, occasionally feeling unsafe, and generally quite busy, especially during weekends and evenings.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The building management has been excellent in responding to any issues we’ve raised. They are always quick to act, especially when it comes to repairs. The team is friendly, approachable, and efficient. Whenever we’ve asked for something to be done, there’s no hesitation or delay; they simply get on with it.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Everything was explained perfectly by Isabella when we first viewed the apartment - again, positivity from the team.

we absolutely love living so close to brindley place, there are so many bars and restaurants to choose from! the tram is right outside and buses to get you to harborne, jewellery quarter and new street
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
we have had a few issues with the toilet in our flat but the maintenance team came to look at it quickly. it did take quite a few weeks for it to be resolved which was disappointing
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
we wish we had known how strict the rules were with booking the communal bookable spaces. we were told we could have all our family over but there are strict limits on guests

The neighborhood is safe and clean, with plenty of leisure activities nearby and a large, well-stocked Morrisons close by. Additionally, it offers good accessibility to public transport.

The building management has been responsive and helpful whenever issues were raised, addressing them in a professional manner.

The property is quiet cold. I suspect this is due to the height of the building. Sometimes it feels like the wind seeps in through the walls or windows.

I find it quite convenient to access local stores and the public transportation system, with both bus and metro stations nearby. There are also plenty of restaurants and leisure activities in the area. Most importantly, we haven't encountered any antisocial behavior so far! The only downside is that I wish Cortland had its own parking area or a designated drop-off space, especially for times when we return from shopping with lots of items.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
We have effective communication through email and the resident app, and we also feel comfortable approaching the team in person whenever needed.

I believe it will take some time for us to fully answer this question. However, so far we’re pleased with the information we received during our viewing, and there’s nothing more we wish to knew before.

Cortland Broad St. is in a super convenient location — just a short walk from Bullring and plenty of shops, cafés, and restaurants. Public transport is excellent, with quick links to the city centre and universities. The street itself is peaceful and clean, and I’ve never had issues with noise or antisocial behaviour. Bin collections are reliable and well-organised. While parking spaces are limited, the area is so well connected that it’s never been a problem for me.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Very efficiently — I once raised a minor issue with lighting and they resolved it within 24 hours. The team kept me updated throughout the process and were really polite.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
If you drive, be aware that parking spaces are limited — but honestly, the public transport is so convenient that I haven’t missed having a car at all.
