What first attracted you to the property?

Highwood Green is a small development compared to other new developments. It has a more intimate, peaceful and countryside feel. We have fields on our doorstep which are wonderful for dog walking or summer strolls. 

I liked the fact that the house had its own private driveway - others on the development are shared. 

As a 5 day a week commuter, it is an 8-minute walk for me to Marden Station which allows me to reach Charing Cross, Waterloo, London Bridge or Cannon Street stations direct in under 1 hour. 

What improvements have you made whilst living there ?

Where to start.....basically everything has been improved
- New kitchen, utility room and appliances including new lighting, decorations and flooring. (completed May '25 )
- New flooring throughout the entire house  (completed May '25 )
- New Worcester Bosch Greenstar combi boiler installed in May 2024 along with Hive Smart Thermostat. Old immersion heater removed, providing more storage space in family bathroom
- Lighting upgrades throughout house - all new
- Garden landscaped with combination of Indian Sandstone, Railway sleepers and AstroTurf for low maintenance
- Garage has been converted into a gym and new glazed double doors installed for access from the garden - there is power and lighting to the space alongside rubber gym flooring. The garage door mechanism has been left in the roof space should a future owner wish to convert back to a garage.

 What have you enjoyed about living here ?

- bringing up the children in a safe and beautiful environment
- quiet with respectful neighbours
- helpful locals - the Marden Facebook group is fantastic for information on local tradesmen, events etc. Always willing to help
- under 30 mins drive to either Tunbridge Wells or Maidstone for shopping
- easy commute into London 
- in under an hour we can drive to Rye, Hastings, Whitstable for days out
- loads of great local pubs and restaurants, not only in the village but also short drives away
