Living at Platform Sheffield has been a mostly positive experience. The area is incredibly central—just a short walk from the train station, tram stops, and bus routes, which makes getting around Sheffield or travelling further afield really convenient. There are plenty of local shops, supermarkets, and a good mix of restaurants and cafes nearby, especially around the city centre and Kelham Island. That said, there’s not a huge amount of green or open space right outside the building, though the Peace Gardens and Norfolk Heritage Park aren’t too far away. Living on this street is relatively quiet considering how central it is. Bin collections are regular and I’ve not experienced any major issues with noise or anti-social behaviour. Parking is limited as expected for a city centre location, so it’s not ideal if you drive. Overall, it’s a great spot if you value convenience, walkability, and good transport links.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The building management has generally responded quickly and professionally to any issues I’ve raised, particularly with maintenance requests, which are usually resolved within a reasonable timeframe. Communication could improve slightly, but overall it’s been reliable.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
One thing I wish I’d known before moving in is how warm the flat can get in summer—there’s no air conditioning, and the large windows, while lovely, let in a lot of heat. I’d recommend investing in a good fan early on! Also, sound travels a bit in the hallways, so light sleepers might want earplugs. On the positive side, the building feels very safe and secure, and the location truly can’t be beaten.

There are various coffee shops and restaurants around the place like Tampers, Mows, Frazers and Bird house Tea all within a 10 minute walking distance. There is also a nice pub nearby called industry Tap where you can have various pints and ales or Sydney & Matilda which has live gigs from local and national bands. You are also one stone away from the Moor Market and city centre but the place is based on a relatively quiet spot of the town. All in all, my experience living here is positive. The only drawbacks I have noticed while loving here are that the flats are not as soundproof as I would like and there are spots within the flat that create echo (not at all times noticeable). However, this should not discourage you from coming here and make your living as you will love it in the end 😁

Yes. I have always had the support required when issues occurred that required the maintenance team to step in and help 😊

I wish I knew it sooner so I could lock in better prices before the cost of living crisis 😜

Shops are good, lot of choice and near the centre. Not much noise even on match days. Can sometimes hear banging from other flats

We haven’t raised any that needed anything doing, but would feel comfortable asking them for help

Close to city centre and relatively a safe area. Easy access to bin collection and lots of parking options. Quiet and not a noisy neighbourhood.

Platform sheffield it's awesome place and staff are reliable. The apartment has all it takes to make you feel comfortable. Vast common room, gym place, smart home, seamless customer service satisfaction. It's a lovely place for couples, singles and everyone.
