There is good access to the M4 and M5 towards Bristol and the A419/A417 on the other side of Cirencester. The main regional centres include Cheltenham, Bristol and Swindon, all of which are within daily commuting distance.

There is a good choice of private and state schools in the area including Westonbirt, Rendcomb College, Beaudesert Park and the Cheltenham Colleges.

Nearby is the world-famous National Arboretum at Westonbirt which covers 600 acres and boasts one of the most varied specimen collections in Europe as well as some 17 miles of trails. Other recreational opportunities include golf at Westonbirt and Minchinhampton, sailing at the Cotswold Water Park, motor racing at the Castle Combe circuit and racing at Cheltenham.
