 When we moved in, it was just the two of us—and over the years, as our family grew to four, the maisonette has adapted with us every step of the way. The space has always felt open and functional, making everyday life easy and comfortable.

Natural light fills the rooms throughout the day, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The living areas are spacious enough for relaxing, entertaining, or simply enjoying time together as a family. Whether it’s cooking in the kitchen or unwinding in the living room, there’s plenty of room to live and grow.

One of our favourite features has been the garden space—a lovely spot for the children to play, summer barbecues, or just enjoying a quiet coffee in the fresh air. It’s a real bonus to have that outdoor space, especially in such a well-connected area.

We have enjoyed living in Shinfield. It’s a peaceful, friendly place with a lovely sense of community. We’ve appreciated having local schools, parks, shops, and transport links all close by—it’s a location that’s worked perfectly for our family life.

There’s also a huge family bathroom and a separate kitchen with dining space at the back, perfect for mealtimes or hosting. The lounge is a great size too!

Out the back, you’ve got access to communal gardens that feel really private and peaceful, and you’re welcome to make full use of the space.

This home is nicely tucked away on Skylark Way with a green and play area nearby, making it ideal for families. There’s also a handy cut-through nearby that takes you straight to School Green, so you're really well connected to all the local amenities. Within walking or short driving distance, you have a garden centre, a Co-Op, the new Lidl,  post office, and several well-loved pubs in the village – including The Shinfield Arms!

Shinfield is a hugely popular spot, thanks to its central location and abundance of green space. Just a few minutes' walk from the house, you’ll find the beautiful Langley Mead nature reserve – perfect for walks, bike rides, or weekend exploring. There are also various play parks and open spaces dotted around the area, ideal for little ones to burn off energy. For families, Alder Grove Primary sits within Shinfield Meadows, and there are plenty of other good schools in the area, making this an ideal base for growing households.

Commuters will love the easy access to main bus routes into Reading and Wokingham, as well as being just minutes from Mereoak Park & Ride, Junction 11 of the M4, and Green Park – now with its own train station offering direct links into Reading and London.
