Quarry Walk Park is situated near the Peak District, within private woodland, creating a perfect tranquil setting for a holiday site. Located 5.4 miles from the A50 allowing for great transport links to all major routes across the country.
According to Peakdistrict.gov, the Peak District has 13.25 million visitors every year.
The popular tourist attraction Alton Towers is situated only 4.3 miles from the site. According to High Peak Borough Council there were 5.89 million visitors to the area in 2023. The BBC reported that one third of these viewers were created by Alton Towers. The proposal, started in 2023, is for Alton Towers to open all year round creating even more visitors to the area, which is part of the tourism strategy for the county’s five-year tourism plan.
Other nearby attractions include: Churnet Valley Railway, Uttoxeter Racecourse and Peak Wildlife Park.
Quarry Walk Park was originally a sand and gravel quarry, dating back to 1900s.
Purchased in 2003 as a caravan and camping site, the owners have developed the park and pitches into a luxurious lodge and log cabin site, expanding and refurbishing the whole site over the years. The first lodge was installed in 2004 and have continued to be installed to date. The site consists of a selection of lodges, log cabins and glamping pods, most of which benefitting from a private hot tub. There are now only five remaining caravan pitches, all fully serviced with hardstandings.
There is planning permission for a further 12 lodges (SMD/2020/0385 x9 & SMD/2008/0754 x3). The hardstandings, roads and services are all in place ready for the installation of the lodges.
Further development would be to replace the five hardstanding caravan pitches with further lodges.
There are eight full time members of staff and 14 part time members of staff (please enquire for further details). The disposal would be subject to staff TUPE transfer regulations.
