Rare opportunity to acquire 2.9 acres (11,898 sq/m) of hardstanding at a former RAF base
This broadly rectangular parcel of land extends to around 2.9 acres (stms). Forming part of title number NK366719 the old taxi runway is mostly hardstanding concrete with some grassland. It offers a range of potential uses such as open storage, subject to the necessary consents being obtained.
It is marked as hardstanding B outlined in red on the plan. Another separate parcel of land known as hardstanding A will be offered as a separate lot before this.
On instruction of administrators.
Location It is located between the old aircraft hangers and solar farm at the former RAF base at West Raynham Business Park. West Raynham is located in North West Norfolk, 4 miles from Fakenham, 12 miles from Swaffham and 18 miles from Kings Lynn.
History Royal Air Force West Raynham, or more simply RAF West Raynham, is a former Royal Air Force station. The airfield opened during May 1939 and was used by RAF Bomber Command during the Second World War with the loss of 86 aircraft. The station closed in 1994, though the Ministry of Defence (MoD) retained it as a strategic reserve. Having lain derelict since closure, the station was deemed surplus to requirements by the MoD in 2004 and has been in private hands since. The technical area now operates as a business park with many buildings now reused.
