Description
Jon-Paul Brampton presents...The Buttery, a truly unique four-bedroom detached home with a mid-century vibe, in the beautiful Buckinghamshire village of Wingrave.
the property
This truly unique home designed and built in the mid 1980's to my clients bespoke specifications. Stylistically evoking a mid-century vibe throughout, with a contrast of exposed brick and timber, with wood panelling detail and an abundance of glass, this home is an absolute one off!
Situated towards the end of this characterful lane in the heart of Wingrave, with the road comprising an absolute melting pot of housing styles from all epochs all sharing the stunning countryside backdrop that the area is so well known for.
Upon entering this home what you will see immediately is that it is extremely well-laid out in a practical and spacious way. An entrance porch leads to an entrance hall. There is an alcove providing storage for shoes and coats and a downstairs WC for convenience. There is a good size dining room or potential kids playroom with views to the front. A kitchen/breakfast room with separate utility room to the rear. A large living room is situated ti the rear, with glass double doors leading through to a large glass backed garden room. With vaulted ceilings this is an extremely bright and multi-purpose space. With windows and doors all looking out onto the low maintenance and extremely private garden, this is a truly pleasant place to relax and enjoy. A door leads through to a store and then into an integral garage with electric door.
A sweeping wooden staircase leads up to a galleried landing from where the bedrooms are all accessed. A large main bedroom suite with a separate ensuite and ample wardrobes sits centre stage. There are three further bedrooms and a family bathroom..
Externally there is off street parking to the front and an integral garage. The rear garden is very private and low maintenance in its presentation, with a decked area for seating and mainly laid to patio.
All in all, a truly unique home in a private spot with no onward chain! But please do not just take my word for it, browse the photos, watch the video tour and then if you think this could be the home for you, please get in touch to arrange a viewing.
the location
Wingrave is an extremely charming hilltop village heavily influenced by Rothschild architecture. There are plenty of local amenities including a local shop, Church, school, public house, garage and famous village pond.
But that is really just the tip of the iceberg, as if ever there was a village with a true village community it is Wingrave. There are a plethora of local clubs and societies for whatever tickles your fancy. Whether it be bowls or netball, there is something for everyone. During the warmer months a village BBQ takes place every other Friday on the Recreation Ground. A chance for villagers to meet and connect. There is afternoon tea at the church on a Wednesday, Curry, Pizza or Spuds night at the Community Centre. The village involves itself heavily in Bucks Art Week as there are numerous artists within the village, as well as holding open garden events.
In terms of broader amenities, the market towns of Aylesbury, Tring and Leighton Buzzard are all close by with their High Streets and Supermarkets, as well as all offering rail services into London.
Local schools include Wingrave CoE Combined and access to the Grammar schools of Aylesbury.
