Wellington Square was built in the early 1850’s which coincided with the death of the of The Iron Duke, The Duke of Wellington, the square was therefore named after him as he lay in state at the nearby Royal Hospital.

This famous square has been home to many illustrious actors, artists, politicians and writers. Most notably AA Milne, the author of Winnie the Pooh, Herbert Asquith before he became the Prime Minister. For the James Bond fans, they will already know that 007’s residence was often cited as Wellington Square.
