Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area has a great selection of local shops, cafés, and restaurants, along with lovely nearby green spaces. Transport links are reliable and convenient, with good access to buses and train stations. The street is quiet and clean, with no problems related to anti-social behaviour or traffic noise. Private parking is available, and the bin chute system on each floor makes waste disposal simple and efficient. A special thanks to Moe, Zee, and Dan — the management team is excellent. Moe and Zee are always kind, respectful, and helpful, and Dan, the manager, is professional, approachable, and makes sure everything runs smoothly. Their support creates a very welcoming and well-managed living environment. Overall, it’s a comfortable and enjoyable place to live.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has always responded quickly and professionally to any issues. They are polite, efficient, and make sure everything is resolved without delay. I’ve always felt supported and well taken care of.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I had known earlier is how active and welcoming the community is. The management team regularly organises social events, which really helps residents connect and feel at home. Also, the convenience of having a gym, co-working space, and even private meeting rooms inside the building is something you don’t fully appreciate until you start living here. It’s more than just an apartment — it really feels like a complete living experience.

    Manager's response

Hi AL-Qasem, WOW! What an amazing 5-star review to have the pleasure of receiving and reading - the Team will equally be delighted. Thank you so much for choosing York & Elder as your home. It's great to hear that you are enjoying the well thought out development and design, and that you are embracing the fabulous community and regular events. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. Kind regards, Serena

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

This is a perfect location with everything near and close to the train station. The traffic is a bit noisy buy overall is all good

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Response was very quick and effective on certainly issues. We are having noisy walking neighbours above us and this is still not resolved.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would gotten a unfurnished flat, as quality of fourniture is not the best, such as mattress .

    Manager's response

Hi Barbara, Thank you for your valuable feedback and 5-star review; and that you find the design of the building to be amazing and equally happy with the landlord. Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in York and Elder has been super convenient. We commute to London and the station is only 8 min away. We have a big Sainsbury’s 4 min away and have other grocery shops on London Road also a few minutes away. In terms of restaurants, there’s plenty nearby on London Road and the North Lanes. It’s also very close to Preston park and to various gyms/studios. I genuinely love its location. It’s quite peaceful around as well, no traffic noise or anti-social behavior around.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We’ve had a few issues with the fire alarm going off (needing replacement) and a window not being fully sound proof, but the team has always been super attentive and helpful to resolve them quickly. I’d say they’re pretty effective solving problems :)

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I didn’t know when I moved in and it was an amazing surprise was that the station was actually closer than I thought (if you access through the rear/ taxi entrance) and that we had a big sainsburys so close. The one thing that I kinda knew before moving in is that you need your key card to move around the building always, so if you have visitors or food deliveries you need to come down to get them. This of course makes the building super safe, but something to consider.

    Manager's response

Hi Daniela, WOW! Thank you for your fabulous 5-Star review. It's great to hear that you are enjoying the beautiful building and utilities the amazing community facilities. Thank you for choosing York & Elder as your home. Kind regards, Serena

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

York & Elder is brilliantly located! Steps from the main Brighton station (7 min walk) and walking distance to the North Laines, city centre, and beach. Despite the central location, the building is peaceful and incredibly well soundproofed.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They've been absolutely fantastic - quick, professional, and always friendly. Any issues I've raised were resolved promptly and properly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Honestly, the team was very thorough in preparing and guiding us prior to moving in. We do have a York & Elder Resident group chat on WhatsApp which is very nice and friendly, I'd recommend asking to get added into it asap! It's only residents (not Y&E staff) and is for everything community and around the building related. Also, there is a little shortcut across the building to get up to Brighton Station which is a little not-so-hidden gem anymore but good to know!

    Manager's response

Hi Olivia, WOW! What an amazing 5-star review, the team and I are delighted to read. It's great to hear that you are finding your home to be beautifully decorated, and that you are enjoying the comfortable lifestyle. It's great to hear that you have found the team to be absolutely fantastic, quick and professional. "Thank you" for choosing York & Elder as your home. Kind regards, Serena
