History
Sevenhampton Manor is a house of historical substance and architectural evolution. Originating in the 17th century—with elements potentially earlier—the house has been depicted by Jan Kip in 1712 and later remodelled across centuries, notably in the mid-19th century by the Lawrence family. Following a damaging fire in the 1960s, it was sensitively restored and reconfigured into three residences.
The current ownership reunified two of these into a magnificent and substantial private home.
Outside
The Manor is discreetly approached via a gravelled driveway, with shared access arrangements and a circular parking forecourt. The formal gardens lie primarily to the south and west, laid to lawn with mature
planting, specimen trees and Cotswold stone terracing.
A raised orchard, sun terraces and walled boundaries offer seclusion and seasonal interest. Two pedestrian gates lead into the grounds of St
Andrew’s Church and onto Church Lane. The property retains a stone-built garage with pitched roof and enjoys vehicular rights of access.
Situation
Sevenhampton is a peaceful village nestled in the Coln Valley, a highly sought-after part of the Cotswolds AONB. St Andrew’s Church lies at its heart, and the setting is defined by rolling countryside, historic
properties and excellent road links via the A40 to Oxford (approx. 46 miles). Cheltenham (approx. 7 miles) offers superb schooling, shopping and cultural amenities.
