Description
This modern detached house sits in a tranquil cul de sac, on the edge of the town and enjoys wonderful, rural views to the rear. The current owners have been in residence for around 20 years and have completed an on-going program of maintenance and modernisation, creating a stylish home fit for family life today.
The accommodation is set over two floors. The front door opens to the hall. At one end is the guest cloakroom. Double doors open from the hall to the living room, which has a log effect gas fire set into a handsome fireplace, as a cosy focal point. Patio doors open to the garden. Across the hall is the dining kitchen. This has a bay window with seat beneath, to the front of the dining area. There is ample space for family mealtimes or more formal occasions. The kitchen area is fitted with a range of wall and base units with granite work surfaces and inset sink. A dresser stands to one side. Integrated appliances include a halogen hob, electric ovens, a dishwasher and fridge and freezer. An extension to the rear has created a superb lobby cum utility room, with granite worksurface, a sink and space for the usual appliances. A door opens to the garden.
On the first floor, the landing, which has built in storage, provides access to each of the four double bedrooms and to the superbly appointed family bathroom. The principal bedroom has fitted wardrobes along one wall. A door opens to the ensuite shower room. Each of the remaining bedrooms has built-in wardrobes. The rear bedrooms have far-reaching rural views.
The house has parking on the double width drive, to the side. There is a third parking space on a shingled area in front of the house. The double garage is accessed via a pair of up and over doors. Power and light are connected within. The garage has been extended with a useful workshop on the rear.
The rear garden has been beautifully landscaped with a paved patio spanning the back of the house and linking, via a path to a west facing terrace, that captures the afternoon and evening sunshine. The shaped lawn has well-stocked flower and shrub borders. The garden is enclosed by timber fencing. A gate opens on to the footpath within the field, making easy access for walking the dog.
